2. The Eastside/Sunset Station/Dignity

This area, situated on the eastern side of downtown, includes the charming districts of Sunset Station and Dignowity Hill. 

It is known for its rich cultural and historical attractions, including the Alamodome and St. Paul Square.

Nevertheless, the area experiences significant crime rates, low income levels, and inadequate housing conditions.

8. Six Flags Fiesta Texas/La Cantera/Medical Center

The northern part of the city boasts popular attractions such as Six Flags Fiesta Texas, La Cantera, and the Medical Center.

In addition to its rich cultural qualities, the region faces challenges in various aspects including crime, poverty, education, and health.

It is worth mentioning that the rate of violent crime stands at 13.54 per 1,000 inhabitants, whereas the rate of property crime is 64.77 per 1,000 residents, both surpassing the city’s average. 

The average family income in this area is $32,500, which is almost half of the city’s median income.
