Two Stimulus Checks During Trump’s First Term

During the pandemic, President-elect Donald Trump, in his first term of presidency, released over two stimulus checks for millions of Americans out there considering the federal government’s aims at maintaining consumers’ Chapman (2008).

Some Facebook posts are written now that Trump may issue another check next year, something that most analysts do not believe will ever happen.

On TikTok right now, posts are saying that Trump might send out another round of checks on X, and users are wondering if they will get a payment.

In the wake of the COVID-19 health crisis in 2020, the economy closed, resulting in diseases & millions of Americans losing their jobs, the jobless rate rising to almost 15 %, and bringing about economic struggles to many. Consequently, Trump has signed two bills for stimulus checks by eligible households, while Biden has signed the third one.

As much as half of all Americans believe the economy is doing badly, some due to high inflation tied to the pandemic, but the U.S. economy in 2022 is not remotely like the early 2020s, analysts said.

LendingTree’s senior economist Jacob Channel said, “Investment stimulus checks refer essentially to stimulus checks, and they normally are only given when the economy is in really bad shape, and people need to be encouraged to spend money.” ‘This is not as can be said in the present.’

Is It Still Too Weak For A New Stimulus Check?

Although a majority of Americans rate the economy poorly, economists argue that it is healthy with a steady real GDP expansion, a gradually improving inflation rate that is almost on the Fed’s 2% annual target, and a jobless rate of 4.1%, which is indicative of a 50-year low.

‘Despite some pain points and general ‘bad vibes’ expressed by some people, the economy is currently in remarkably good shape, and consumer spending is relatively strong,’ Channel said.
