The person will receive certain benefits, such as clothing, food, child care, and other forms of assistance. The Alberta Emergency Financial Assistance benefits are available to the income support recipient.
Emergency Financial Assistance 2024: Overview
If a person has an unforeseen emergency, the Government of Alberta will offer financial support; in that scenario, the citizen may apply for financial assistance through the Emergency Needs Allowance Program.
Financial aid will only be granted in cases where you face uncontrollable circumstances or a serious risk to your health. When individuals are unable to access any other resources, financial support will also be given.
The citizens will receive cash aid for clothing, food, transportation, and any damages. Together with the aforementioned perks, the fees could also include necessary home repairs.
Emergency Financial Assistance 2024: Eligibility Requirements
To apply for Financial Assistance, you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a government income support beneficiary.
- You have met the income requirements.
- You are receiving income but do not have enough money to cover your benefits.
- Your emergency situation is short-term (less than a month).

Individuals can apply for Financial Assistance during regular business hours, and those who receive Income Support can contact their case worker. Those who do not know who to contact the Case worker can get assistance from the Support Centre.

The application can be submitted during business hours through the Supports Centre, and the application procedure may take longer.
Keep in mind that the benefits will be supplied four days before the first of each month, and if that date falls on a holiday, the benefit will be provided on a prior date.
