National Nurses Week, which recognizes the efforts of nurses around the country, is rapidly approaching. Beginning May 6, the week is an ideal time to express gratitude to the nurses in your life. While nurses anticipate nothing from patients, coworkers, or family, they would appreciate a tiny surprise during the week. This is what we know.

When is National Nurses Week 2024?

According to the American Nurses Association, National Nurses Week occurs every year from May 6 to May 12. The week-long festival was first commemorated in October 1954, although the American Nurses Association Board of Directors did not officially recognize it until 1990. The board made National Nurses Week permanent in 1993, from May 6 to May 12. Nurse Appreciation Week recognizes nurses’ contributions to local communities. The week-long celebration culminates on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the originator of modern nursing.
